The governors from the northern states have decided to pursue the present security challenges with suffered fervent prayers against banditry and kidnapping.

Gov. Abubakar Bello of Niger State said this at the opening of a two-day symposium with a them: “The role of Imams in ensuring credible and peaceful elections as well as good governance”.

According to the Secretary to the State Government, Ahmed Matane who represented the Governor at the occasion, Bello said, “security agencies alone cannot do it and thus the need for prayers by religious leaders to address the ugly trend.”

However, he applauded the efforts from security agencies in the cope with contrary to the insurgency.

Alhaji Umar Bago, a gubernatorial candidate from the All Progressives Congress, said he’d support just about any initiative targeted at alleviating the hardship of individuals.

Bago said the roles played by strict and traditional rulers in promoting relaxing coexi tence were enormous and should be supported to obtain maximal results.

In a separate speech, Sen. Sani Musa (APC-Niger East) urged youth to register to vote by stating that this is the only way they can choose trustworthy leaders.

He also urged religious leaders to pray for trouble-free general elections in 2023.
