Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has been made fun of by President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Assistant on Digital Communications, Bashir Ahmad, for supporting Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP).

Obasanjo, Ahmad claimed, chose to support a presidential contender despite his inability to provide a councilor.

In an open letter to Nigerian youths, Obasanjo endorsed Obi and asked them to support the former governor of Anambra State.

In response, Buhari’s assistant called the former president’s support for him “hilarious.”

In a tweet, Ahmad predicted that Nigerians will support Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate.

Someone who is unable to generate a councilor is busy endorsing a presidential contender, the author stated.

“Hilarious! In February, Nigerians will cast their ballots for Asiwaju.

“Chief, the 2019 elections won’t be far off.

According to Ahmed, “Someone that can’t produce a councillor is busy endorsing a presidential candidate. “Hilarious! Asiwaju is the candidate Nigerians will be voting for in February. Not a long time, for the 2019 election, Chief OBJ endorsed and supported the PDP candidate, and wrote several letters against President Buhari. See the result from OBJ’s ward 11, unit 22, Olusomi’s compound of Abeokuta North LG; APC: 87 votes, PDP: 18 votes. We are not bothered.”
