Colonel Tickap Pierre Lotti, the commander of Sector 1 of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), visited the headquarters of Sector 3 of the Hadin Kai operation and the Multinational Joint Task Force in Monguno, Borno State, Tuesday.
Major General A.E. Abubakar, the Multinational Joint Task Force and Sector 3 Operation HADIN KAI Commander, welcomed him at the Sector Headquarters where operational concerns were discussed in advance of joint intensive kinetic operations.
The Sector 3 Commander thanked the troops for their resiliency and tenacity, which have largely contributed to the restoration of peace in most of the communities, as well as to an observed uptick in socioeconomic activity and the return of some residents. The Sector 3 Commander acknowledged the support and cooperation received from Sector 1 MNJTF in the past.
“On behalf of officers and men of Sector 3, I acknowledged the support and cooperation received from Sector 1 MNJTF in the past and commended the resilience and tenacity of the troops which has largely led to the restoration of peace in most of the communities as well as an observed spike in socio economic activities and return of citizens to their ancestral homes in Lake Chad Basin communities.” Said Major General Abubakar.
Col. Tickap Pierre, the visiting Sector 1 Commander MNJTF, responded by expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality shown to him by his host. He also assured that the cooperation and synergy being fostered would significantly contribute to the final restoration of peace and progress to the region as well as the total annihilation of the common enemy.
The wreath-laying ceremony at the Sector 3 Cenotaph in memory of all fallen warriors was one of the visit’s highlights. The Amphibious Battallion SS4/S1 Commanding Officer, Commander Peter Ndima, Chief of Staff Sector 1 MNJTF Col. John Williams, Chief G2 Cell Sector 1 MNJTF Colonel Gadyeba Bouba, and Commanders and Principal Staff Officers are all members of the Commander Sector 1 MNJTF’s entourage.
