In New Jersey, America, a republican councilwoman named Eunice Dwumfour was fatally shot in front of her home.

According to the Foundation for Investigative Journalism, she was the wife of Nigerian-born pastor Eze Kings.

According to information obtained by the New York Post, Dwumfour, 30, was shot roughly 12 times while being driven about her home on Wednesday night. She struck two parked vehicles with her white Nissan SUV before coming to a stop.

Under the condition of anonymity, a male witness told NY Post on Thursday that Dwumfour’s automobile was shot at around 12 times as it was driving down Check Avenue toward Samuel Circle at 7:15 p.m.

After hitting two parked automobiles, including the witness’s black Lexus GS350, the car eventually came to a stop.

Dwumfour’s body was in the car as first responders surrounded the site in harrowing Snapchat footage of the incident’s aftermath.

It took me a moment to realize there was a dead body behind the wheel, the witness claimed.

“She was slumped over the wheel with a black hoodie with brown fur covering her head, her hands were down by her side. There was one bullet hole in the passenger door and a bunch of bullet holes in the driver door. Some other neighbors said they saw someone running away with a mask on.”

Additionally, some residents informed RLS Media that they saw the shooter running toward the Garden State Parkway, which borders the complex.

Twenty Sayreville police officers were reportedly seen Thursday afternoon scouring the sides of the Garden State Parkway off ramp leading to the Jon Bon Jovi Service Area.

Shortly after, detectives at the crime scene revealed to media that Dwumfour was seen on video conversing to the murderer just before she was shot and killed.

“I heard what sounded like a few shots going off,” dog groomer Kristen Glanforf, who lives on Check Avenue, told The Post of the scene.

“I dropped everything and started running for my apartment. There was a car rolled down to the end of the hill, lights on. The doors were open.”

Authorities told the source that the Republican councilwoman, who delivered sermons for a Nigerian-based church group, looked to be the intended victim, while they emphasized that no clear motive was known.

“I personally knew her to be a very kind person and public servant. May she rest in peace.”

“She was an extremely compassionate person and a public servant in my own experience. Let her soul rest in peace.

Dwumfour had been in office at the Borough of Sayreville since November 2021, when she unexpectedly defeated the incumbent Democrat. Not until 2024 was she up for reelection.

The news of the councilwoman’s passing “stunned,” according to New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy.

Wumfour had been in office in the Borough of Sayreville since November 2021, when she unexpectedly defeated the incumbent Democrat. Not until 2024 was she up for reelection.

The news of the councilwoman’s passing “stunned,” according to New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy.

Murphy said in a statement that although her career in public service was just getting started, she had already established a reputation as a dedicated council member who took her duties very seriously.

Murphy continued, “I express my condolences to Councilwoman Dwumfour’s family and friends, her fellow members of the governing body, and the whole Sayreville community.

Victoria Kilpatrick, mayor of Sayreville, stated that the entire community was “shocked and grieved by the loss.”

“Eunice was a devoted council member for our borough who genuinely cared about helping our citizens. This incident is made much more horrible by the fact that she was snatched from us by this heinous criminal crime,” she added.
