The Deputy Inspectors-General of Police, DIGs, Assistant Inspectors-General of Police, AIGs, and Commissioners of Police, CPs have been redeployed or posted in preparation for the upcoming general elections, according to Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba.
The former Force Public Relations Officer, CP Emeka Frank Mba, is one of the impacted personnel who was recently appointed as a Commissioner of Police and is awaiting the Police Service Commission’s clearance.
DIG Danmallam Mohammed has reportedly been assigned to the Department of Finance and Administration, according to the release.
Additionally, it stated that AIG Shuaya’u Lafia Abdulyari had been appointed AIG in charge of the Force Intelligence Bureau at Force Headquarters, Abuja, while AIG Habu Sani Ahmadu had been deployed as Force Secretary.
According to the statement, the Deputy Inspectors-General of Police’s tasks and responsibilities have been given to the Assistant Inspectors-General of Police listed below.
DIG are these. AIG Hafiz M. Inuwa, mni is in charge of the department of training and development. AIG Aji A. Janga, mni is in charge of the department of research and planning. AIG Adeleke A. Bode, mni is in charge of the department of operations. The Force Secretary is now AIG Habu Sani Ahmadu, while the AIG in charge of the Force Intelligence Bureau at Force Headquarters, Abuja, is AIG Shuaya’u Lafia Abdulyari.
Other senior police officers who were appointed to fill the positions of the Assistant Inspectors-General of Police included CP Matthew Akinyosola of the AIG Police Mobile Force, CP Jonathan Towuru of the AIG Zone 6 in Calabar, CP Sylvester A. Alabi of the AIG Zone 2 in Lagos, CP Akande Sikiru Kayode of the AIG Zone 11 in Osogbo, and CP Abimbola Adebola Shokoy.
