In order to express their unhappiness with the shortage of naira notes and the petrol shortage that is wreaking havoc on the country, some irate Nigerians have blocked the Benin-Ore Highway in Ondo State.
Travelers using the road were left trapped by the protest that generated traffic.
A wide range of demonstrators blamed their actions on the irritations they felt at banks and gas stations.
Our source claims that while marching along the highway, the demonstrators disobeyed police presence as well.
The police command issued the warning in response to the locals’ intention to organize a protest against the nation’s ongoing fuel and naira note shortages.
The warning was issued by Oyeyemi Oyediran, the state’s commissioner of police.
Oyediran asserted that the Command is aware of the inhabitants’ goals.
