Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi requested that the electoral materials used in the conduct of the presidential election be inspected, and the Court of Appeal in Abuja granted their motion on Friday.

For the presidential election on February 25, Atiku and Mr. Obi are the respective presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP).

The two have claimed that the election was rigged after losing to Bola Tinubu, the president-elect and presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Atiku and Mr. Obi were defeated in the race by Mr. Tinubu, who received 8.8 million votes.

Atiku and Obi have each begun their individual legal proceedings at the Court of Appeal in Abuja to contest the results of the elections. The Presidential Election Petition is filed with the Court of Appeal.
