In Gombe State, the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has detained ten individuals on suspicion of buying votes with N1.9 million in cash.

The suspects were detained in Gombe, Akko, Nafada, and Kwami local government areas of the state, according to Farul Dogondaji, the EFCC Kano Zonal Commander, who is presently in Gombe State on election duty.

According to him, 43 wrappers were found in the possession of 10 suspects who were caught attempting to register voters in the affected LGAs.

He claimed that while trying to distribute the funds to sway voters in the governorship and state assembly elections, all of the suspects were detained.

The suspects will be charged in court following an inquiry, according to the EFCC commander.
