Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, promised that he would begin working diligently as soon as he assumed office and that he would not let the people down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At a speech to his supporters on Sunday in Lagos, Tinubu made this comparison between the primary and election processes he underwent and the World Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The former governor of Lagos State praised God and the people for giving him the win in a statement released by his media office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among those who greeted Tinubu when he landed at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Ikeja’s Presidential wing were Babajide Sanwo-olu, the governor of Lagos State, Tayo Ayinde, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, and other prominent figures in Lagos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The train then proceeded to the Iga-Iduganran Palace where the Oba of Lagos, Rilwanu Akiolu, some other traditional rulers in the state and White Cap chiefs were already waiting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a speech delivered in Yoruba at the palace, Tinubu said his message was one of appreciation and thanked Oba Akiolu and the state’s traditional leaders for their prayers and assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The president-elect was referred to by Oba Akiolu as a unique breed “who is destined for leadership at the absolute top.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Oba Saheed Elegushi, the Elegushi of the Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom, and Oba Omogbolahan Lawal, the Oniru of Iruland, were among the other traditional leaders present at the palace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Former Deputy Governor Femi Pedro, Muiz Banire, the All Progressives Congress Women Leader for the state, and Hon. Jumoke Okoya-Thomas were also present at the palace.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
