The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Adams Oshiomhole won the Edo North Senatorial District election on Saturday, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The INEC Returning Officer, Benjamin Adesina, announced Mr. Oshiomhole as the winner of the election on Sunday in Auchi with 107,110 votes.

He defeated Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) incumbent Senator Francis Alimekhena, who received 55,344 votes.

The election for the Edo North Senatorial District was held on February 25. “Adams Oshiomhole of APC, having obtained the greatest number of votes, is now proclaimed as the winner,” Mr. Adesina remarked.
